January Activities at Senior Wellness Center in Basking Ridge

Pomegranate smoothie tasting, floral arranging with Bernardsville Garden Club, lots of opportunities to learn about computers coming up in new year.

The at 202 Mount Airy Road in Basking Ridge, one of the countywide centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services,  announces the January program schedule, including regular and special events.

All programs begin at 11 a.m. unless otherwise noted. Those who want lunch should call for eservations by 11 a.m. the day before they wish to come.

The center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Bridge — Every Monday, 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Computer Lab — Daily, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Call for availability.)

Computers for visually impaired — Every Tuesday, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Computer Confidence Series — Every Friday, 10:30-11:30 a.m. (Call for availability)

Mahjong — Every Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pool Sharks — Pool table available daily, 10 to 3 p.m. (Call for availability.)

Senior Flex Class — (Upper & lower body exercise), every Monday and Thursday, 10:30 am (No class on Jan. 2 or Jan. 16. Those classes instead will be held Jan. 3 and Jan. 17.

Jan. 2 — holiday — center closed.

Jan. 3 — Free blood pressure screenings by Laura Cummings, R.N., B.S.N., Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills, 10:30 am.

Jan. 4 — craft: constructing intricate snowflakes, 10:45 a.m.

Jan. 6 and 20 — Bingo, 10:30 a.m.

Jan. 9 — Podiatry evaluations by Dr. Mary Ann Brazinski, 10:30 a.m. (Evaluations are done by appointment only. Please call (908) 204-3435.)

Jan. 10 — “What are Your Memories of Yesteryear?” by Helen Vasko, 10:45 am
