Mayor John Malay Issues Reverse 9-1-1 Message with Irene Update

Road closings as of Thursday afternoon reduced to three.

A reverse 9-1-1 call through the county's emergency dispatched system, and placed by Mayor John Malay, confirmed to residents that full power is at 1 Collyer Lane as of Thursday.

As of 7:17 p.m. on Thursday, JCP&L was reporting the number of power outages in Basking Ridge at 428 in Basking Ridge, down from more than 2,600 a few days earlier, and still at 925 in Bernardsville, down from in excess of 1,300 in a borough with about 2,300 homes.

Malay's recorded message also said that as of that afternoon, the number of township roads blocked off by downed trees and power lines or other safety issues was reduced to three; at least parts of Lyons Road, Lord Stirling Road and Madisonville Road.

The message confirmed that residents should call Jersey Central Power & Light to report power outages, and Public Serice Electric & Gas for gas-related issues.
