Dominant Second Half Nets Ridge Win Over Voorhees, 61-41

The team will play No. 20 Passaic next at the Dan Finn Classic on Saturday at the Jersey City Armory.

The halftime magic of Ridge head coach Mark Taylor struck again for the boys basketball team against Voorhees on Tuesday.

Ridge blew out their opponents in the third quarter 18-9 to put the game out of reach, and improved to 7-2 on the season.

Taylor's squad has owned the third quarter so far in the 2009-10 season. Ridge has yet to give up more points than they scored in the third, outscoring opponents 120-86 in their nine games.

In the game on Tuesday, Voorhees and Ridge traded early baskets with Ridge taking a 14-10 lead after the first quarter of play. Ridge built on their lead to head into halftime up 30-21.

After the third quarter explosion, Ridge was able to send the bench in to finish the game, which Ridge won by 20 points, 61-41.

Senior Christian Frisoli led the team with 16 points and senior Nick Cefalo added 14 points and a near triple double. Junior Conor Skea also played a big role with 9 points and 11 rebounds.

Ridge's next opponents will be No. 20-ranked Passaic High School at the Jersey City Armory on Saturday as a part of the Dan Finn Classic.
