Backyard Compositing: A Way To Go Green

Join Buck Garden Foreman, Jim Fleming and learn how to create and produce soil amendments to enrich your garden soil and help to protect our environment beginning at 9:30 a.m. Learn how to save money for soil amendments and fertilizer and join the green movement by practicing some basic compositing techniques at home. Different types of compositing will be discussed. Whether you choose to create a compost pile, use a bin, or vermiculture (using worms for composting) Wear proper clothing and be prepared to get dirty. Paricipants will prepare one compost pile and turn another.
