Final Scrimmage Is Reminder Ridge Football is Back (VIDEO)

Devils win 28-3 over Lancers from Livingston.

Ridge High School's Red Devils varsity football team for this year played host to the Livingston Lancers on Thursday evening for a game format scrimmage at Lee Field, Basking Ridge.  The game represents the final action either team will face before they begin the 2011 regular season September 9th.

For pre-season events such as this, the teams do not wear standard uniforms or the numbers they will have in the season. They do play by full rules with a full set of officials.

Ridge took the contest 28-3.

Ridge head varsity coach Bill Tracy was pleased with his team's performance in the scrimmage.

"The kids played better as the game went on," Tracy said. "That was one thing we talked about at halftime. I thought we had better energy in the third quarter and so we want to make sure we do that from the beginning. I was real proud of them tonight."
