Immaculata Halts Ridge Lacrosse in County Semis
Kelly records 3 goals and 3 assists, but Devils unable to match Spartans' 2nd-quarter surge.
The lacrosse team was defeated by Immaculata 17-12 in the Somerset County Tournament semifinals Saturday in Somerville. Ridge was led by senior Kevin Kelly, who had with three goals and three assists.
IN SHORT
Ridge came into the Somerset County semifinal game looking take back the 10-5 loss it suffered to Immaculata just two weeks ago. Ridge drew first blood and the first quarter ended in a 2-2 tie. But in the second quarter, Immaculata came out strong and scored seven goals. After three quarters, with Ridge down 11-6, the Devils mounted an offensive charge scoring six goals in the fourth, but the Spartans answered with six of their own to seal the victory.

Kevin Kelly had three goals and three assists to lead the Devils; Jason Mertz had a goal and two assists.
