LETTER: Still Chance to Apply For Ridge Scholarship

Editor's Note: The letter writer heads the board of trustees for the. This would be the fifth year the scholarship is being awarded.

To the Editor:

Attention RHS seniors with character!

Graduating seniors who’ve demonstrated character, determination and nontraditional achievements at RHS need to remember this date: Monday, March 5, 2012. It’s the fast-approaching application deadline for the $6,000 Ridge Alumni Memorial Scholarship.

Ridge AMS doesn’t ask about grades or test scores — we want to know what a senior has done that reflects the virtues Ridge AMS celebrates. Funds can be used for any personal growth purpose — tuition, rent, transportation, travel, whatever. Tell us about yourself. And do it by March 5.

In addition to recognizing deserving graduates, the Ridge AMS website provides a vehicle to memorialize alumni who have left us. Donors can post a message recognizing RHS friends we've lost, and invite others to remember these friends with a tax-deductible contribution. The scholarship is organized by volunteers, funded by donations from friends of RHS, and administered in partnership with the Bernards Township Education Foundation.
