The Red Devil Varsity Football Team on Thursday evening hosted a scrimmage with East Orange High School at Ridge High School's' Lee Field, as part of the team's continuous preparation for the opening season game against Immaculata High School, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10.  The scrimmage was played as a regular game with referees, penalties and the clock.  As an injury preventative, punts and kickoffs did not include contact.  The game does not count against the season record.

The teams appeared evenly matched throughout the game, but East Orange capitalized on some Ridge mistakes to win the contest, 21-0. 

The Red Devils's opener against Immaculata will be broadcast live in HD on MSG Varsity television, with a "fanfest" on site beginning at 5pm.
