Ridge Skiers Continue Placing First

The following are parent-submitted results for the ski team from this past week's league races.

The Independence League Slalom race on Jan. 31 at Hidden Valley Ski Area included varsity and JV teams.

The All Leagues Giant Slalom race on Feb. 3 at Mt. Peter Ski Area in Warwick, N.Y., included JV and X men skiers.

Jan. 31

Independence League — The girls placed 2nd, boys 1st.

Varsity Girls — Halbing (5),  Bondy (7), Taylor (8),  Smith (9),  Lailey (10), Kapp (23).

Varsity Boys — McGeough (2), Hughes (3),  McWilliams (4), Thompson (5), Taylor (6), Colbertaldo (8)

1. Coach John Fico: “In the entire program both the boys and girls have shown to be solid throughout.  They've worked exceptionally hard in pre-season training and during the season, which is obviously paying off. “ 
2. Captain Connor McGeough: "The Ridge Ski Team is looking very strong and fast this year despite the weather not cooperating. We have many talented skiers on both varsity and jv, girls and boys' teams. Our mountain practices have been very constructive as the team works hard to remain number one in the Independence League. The boy’s biggest competition is Don Bosco and Vernon, from Freedom and Liberty leagues."
