Ridge Golf Teams Shine at Somerset County Tourney

The Ridge boys and girls golf teams played their way into the lead of the 2010 Somerset County Championships.

Playing on chilly and very windy morning, the Ridge High School golf teams showed they were a force to be reckoned with in the county.  Winning the team competition and leading all individuals, the girls first year program took top honors at the 2010 Somerset County Championships at Neshanic Golf Course Monday, April 19.  The boys team did its share and took home third place honors.

The girls team posted the top three scores for their division and won the championship with 49 strokes under the nearest competitor.  The team was led by Alex Herschberger with the girls' tourney low score of 75, Hana Ku second with a 75, Michele Chung third with a 91, and the team was rounded out by Rachel Walsh 11th with a 101.

The boys team took home third place in the field.  Sean Lee set the pace with a tournament low boys score of 75.  Sean and his teammates, Matt Samuels (83), Jack Stewart (88), and Harrison Schreider (89), posted a team total of 335 and were only 10 strokes behind the first place team, Hillsborough.
