Ridge High School Cheerleaders Rock The House

The Ridge High School cheerleading squad recently took part in the Atlantic Coast Championships at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton as part of Spirit Cheer.

The pouring rain outside couldn't stop these spirited young girls as they took second place in the small varsity division before a packed house. Fans of all ages ventured in from all over the state to watch these girls put all their hard work to the test.

Although the halls were lined with pictures and autographs from world famous entertainers and athletes, the girls from Ridge High School came focused and immediately began their warmups upon arrival. Coach Mike Drulis watched intently as his girls practiced their backflips and somersaults while waiting for the anouncer to call their school to the on deck circle.

When the time finally came the girls gathered around in a circle and wished each other luck with hugs and kisses. " Go Green, Go Black", were the sounds from the fans as the girls ran onto the mat. With precise choreographed moves and loud cheers the Ridge girls would prove to belong with the elite.

The music blared through the speakers and the girls would not miss a beat as Coach Drulis mouthed the words and yelled instructions. The girls finished the routine with an astonishing dance routine that had the crowd on their feet. Although it was a second place finish, the Ridge girls definitely showed they are number one caliber and one of the elite cheering squads in New Jersey.
