Ridge Skiers Rule Slopes at All-League Event

Boys place first, girls place second overall, at All-League varsity race.

The Ridge High School boys and girls ski teams raced their way to first and second place overall while participating in the All-League Varsity Giant Slalom race, held last Friday evening, Jan. 18, at Mountain Creek Ski Resort in Vernon.

More than 19 schools took part in the including 90 girls and 107 boys.

The Ridge girls won second place overall. Individual placements included: Maddy Kapp, 5th place; Alyssa Thompson, 6th; Courtney Lailey, 14th; Nora Smith, 22nd; Gina Taylor 25th, and Sandy Halbing, 26th.

Ridge boys skiers place first overall

Ridge boys won first place overall, and junior Daniele Colbertaldo also grabbed first individual placement among boys.

Other individual placements for the bosy included Alex Thompson 8th; Adam Walker, 18th; Thomas McWilliams 23rd; Mike Depalma, 38th and Patch McGeough, 40th.

The Ridge racers are competing again on Wednesday at Mount Peter ski area in Warwick, N.Y.

All results are posted online at www.hsskireg.org. Ridge has already raced earlier in January as part of the Independence League but also races in the All League.
