Ridge Sports Calendar Preview – Week of Jan. 3

The holidays are over and winter sports are back in action this week, with plenty of opportunities to get out and support Ridge athletics.

The full schedule for varsity sports can be found below, with the following highlights.

Ridge fencing opens the sports week with a border battler against neighboring Bernards High School on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The basketball teams set off to play Phillipsburg on the same day – the boys are home and the girls are away. Ridge star running back / point guard Nick Cefalo will get a chance to avenge the football team's 34-7 loss in the state finals to Phillipsburg, albeit he'll have to do it on the court instead of in cleats.

Later in the week, the girls come home to play Hillsborough (Thursday, 7 p.m.) while the boys travel out to face the same team at the same time. Only the boys team plays on Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. against Vernon Township.

The boys varsity ice hockey team will face 6-1 St. Joseph's High School (Friday, 8 p.m.) at home for the lone Friday game for Ridge.
