Tobin Heath, U.S. Women Secure Olympic Quarters

Now 2-0 in Group G after easy win vs. Colombia.

The United States women's soccer team and Basking Ridge native Tobin Heath made it two straight wins to open up the 2012 London Olympics on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Colombia.

The team secured a tip to the quarterfinals with the victory.

U.S. goals were scored by Megan Rapinoe, Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd. Heath did not play in Saturday's contest after playing and drawing a foul in the team's on Wednesday. Basking Ridge fans at the Games.

The squad plays its third game in Group G on Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. against North Korea. The game is not scheduled to be aired on NBC or NBC Sports Network.

Does Tobin Heath still live in Basking Ridge? Would love it if she could visit Matheny after the Olympics are over.

Tobin did play in today's game, 23 + minutes, after substituting for Heather O'Reilly.

Heath did play in this game. She came in for Heather O'Reilly after 67 minutes and passed to Abby Wambach who scored the second goal.

The score was 1-0 when she entered and she immediately made an impact with her passing and high energy level. I believe she assisted on one of the goals as well. Way to go Tobin and the entire USA team. Basking Ridge is proud of you! Richard Itz
