Township Tennis Player Again Runner-Up in Lexus Tournament

Resident Lloyd Desatnick gives up final matches in Sunday's Lexus Open Tennis Tournament.

After previously winning his quarterfinal and semifinal matches at the Lexus Open Tennis Tournament in Chatham, township resident Lloyd Desatnick finally met his match against a top-seeded tennis player from New York on Sunday morning.

On Monday, Desatnick said he has competed in the tournament for three years, and this is the second year he has been runner-up.

Desatnick, who entered as the No. 2 seeded player for the Men's 45 singles division, said he lost the matches 6-1 and 7-5. He said he won a trophy and a small amount of cash.

as one of the local and semi-professional tennis players at the tournament, held at the Centercourt Athletic Club in Chatham. Desatnick won that match, 7-6 and 7-6.

The tournament is sanctioned by the USTA and the winners of the divisions will receive cash prizes. Desatnick said he competed against top-seeded Sadik Sendich of Staten Island, N.Y.

"It's not easy to win this things," Desatnick said of the competition he has faced against other players in the tournament.
