UPDATE: Undefeated Red Devils Shut Out Linden

Ridge Red Devils and Bernards High Mountaineers were both 2-0 before Friday games.

Ridge High School's Red Devils football faced Linden High School at an away game at 7 p.m. on Friday, heading onto the field at 2-0 for the season.

The team came home with a third win in their pocket, 23-0. Senior Evan Skea reported scored the game's last touchdown.

The Red Devils had defeated rivals Immaculata High School last Friday in a home game that was filmed by MSG Varsity and later televised on Cablevision.

The team started with a strong 36-7 win over Montgomery High School.

The Bernards High Mountaineers also are 2-0 out of the gate for the season, and will travel to Manville for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.

That team also finished with two strong wins — 49 to 14 against Jonathan Dayton High School in Springfield for the season opener, and 41 to 14 against David Brearly High School in Kenilworth for a second victory last Friday, said Head Coach Jon Simoneau.
