Saturday Evening Stroll With Your Dog — On Horse Trails

Dog walking now held Saturday evening walks for humans and canines at Lord Stirling horse stable in Basking Ridge.

Sometimes there's just not enough days in the week, but every Wednesday we'll give you an idea of something to do to relax, spend time with family or just take some time for yourself.

And now that it's summer, and the weather is warm [sometimes extremely so], we know you are going to want to take long walks. So what better time for a stroll than after the summer has gone down and you still have light through the evening.

That's right, the Somerset County Park Commission's in Basking Ridge is offering Saturday evening dog walks on the trails throughout the summer. The Friends of Lord Stirling Stable non-profit group is hosting the weekly event at the property at 256 South Maple Avenue.

The sanctioned dog walks are the only opportunity to walk the stable grounds on foot.

The walk begins at 7 p.m., with registration at 6:45 p.m. every week, and will last about one hour.

The registration is $3 per dog, and all animals are required to be leashed at all times.
