3rd Annual Family Fun Night Offers Cure for Winter Blahs

Full day of activities planned for Basking Ridge kids and their families, friends.

Already feeling stuck indoors with active kids? The third annual Basking Ridge Family Fun Night, with a full day of energetic activities, is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Branchburg Sports Complex, 47 Readington Road, Branchburg.

The event offers anyone from Basking Ridge a night of fun and entertainment during the cold and confining winter months when it is harder to get together in a safe, warm and energy filled environment. The event also is open to friends and family, even those from out of town, as long as they are with a Basking Ridge resident)

Activities for participants will include:

  • 2 games of laser tag
  • A variety of field games (like flag football, dodgeball and wiffleball and more)
  • Bounce houses and play maze
  • A $10 fun card for the arcade. The kids earn tickets that are traded for prizes they take home!
Individual tickets cost $25, down from the $51 cost of the usual cost. A family four-pack will cost $75, down from $204 for this package.

Meals are not included, but for $4.50 per person there is a pizza, bag of chips and drink option. A bake sale will also be available to those in attendance.

This event promotes the bonding of Basking Ridge residents as a whole community rather than focusing on us as separate district schools or various areas of town.

The past two years have been successful in that goal as more and more residents from all over town join in each year to find out how great it is and return the next year.

Although many come from the town elementary schools, each year there have been many teenagers from WAMS in attendance too.

"This is a really nice community event that gets people together in a safe, warm, friendly, and memorable atmosphere which keeps the kids entertained," said organizer Elaine DiDario. The event also allows for parents to catch up with friends, they might not get to see often enough and allows adults a chance to make new friends too.

Tickets should be obtained by January 12. For more information, go to https://sites.google.com/site/brffn2014 for a registration form or contact Elaine DiDario at didario@optonlie.net with questions.
