A Nice End To The Week Gives Way To A Snowy Monday

Expect Monday to be a very tough travel day.

Good morning everyone! A lot to talk about today so let’s get right too it!

The models continue to show a snowy/icy Monday, which I will touch upon in a bit. Today will be partly cloudy and expect another shot of cold air, with even colder temps tomorrow! Highs will be around 30 today and in the 20’s tomorrow. Expect lows around 10 the next 2 nights. The weekend actually looks to be okay with highs around 35 both days and partly cloudy skies. Sunday will be mostly dry, with a chance or rain/snow showers during the day.

Confidence is gaining on the storm affecting the region mainly on Monday. Models are showing mostly snow across the region. Possible sleet/rain in south Jersey. However, I do believe it may change to all snow for everyone as the day progresses. It will be cold with temps probably only reaching the upper 20’s to lower 30’s.

I have included the snowfall totals shown on the latest run of the GFS (one of the main American models used to forecast). The EURO (European forecast model) is favoring a more northern track still, bringing sleet/rain to more of the south and central areas, with snow in the northern part of the state. I believe it may be a blend of the 2 that turns out to be the final track of the storm. The EURO still shows a significant amount of wintry precipitation in the area however.

Only time will tell with this storm but expect Monday to be a very tough travel day. Stay safe and be prepared! More updates on the way, as new information is available.
