The Rampant Lion Pipe Band of Basking Ridge offers bagpipe and drum instruction every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm at the Calvary Episcopal Church, 31 Woodland Ave., Summit, NJ 07901.

During the Competition Season, May - July, band practice takes place on the field at Bonnie Brae School, 3415 Valley Rd in Liberty Corner, NJ (or at the Gazebo in Pleasant Valley Park in the event of rain)

All members of the community who wish to participate in learning the traditional music of Scotland and performing in New Jersey’s premier Scottish pipe band are welcome to attend. The pipe band performs in local and tri-state area parades, festivals, special events and competitions and is highlighted as the featured band for Tartan Day on Ellis Island every April. Musical and marching instruction is provided by Pipe Major David Palladino-Sinclair, and Drum Instructor and Eastern United States Pipe Band Association Judge Gordon Bell. The band was formed in 2007 and emulates the traditions and style of the military pipe bands of the Scottish Regiments and takes its name from the symbol of the Rampant Lion, the heraldic design of the kings of Scotland dating back to the Middle Ages.

Instruments: Scottish bagpipes, Snare drums, Bass Drum, Tenor drums.
